Meine Frau

Nicht meine eigentliche Frau.

This was done back when I was working on the fundamentals of figure drawing by doing quick gesture sketches with compressed charcoal on newsprint. I would do multiple sketches giving myself increasingly more time for each sketch so that by the later sessions you were practiced and honed in on the forms that you are rendering. This piece was the product of one of those sessions and has remained another favorite of mine earning it the name Meine Frau.

• 10 mil (0.25 mm) thick paper

• Alder, semi-hardwood frame
